LINKIN PARK a été l’un des derniers groupes du week-end de 3 jours au HELLFEST, en tête d’affiche sur la Main Stage et qui a permis de clôturer un festival composé d’une variété de musiques, dont le heavy metal, le punk rock, le blues, le stoner rock et plus encore. LINKIN PARK est un groupe « nu metal » qui s’est formé en 1996 à Agoura Hills, en Californie, et a décollé comme une tempête avec leur album « Hybrid Theory », qui a rapidement obtenu une place sur le devant de la scène via une forte rotation en radio et à la télévision. LINKIN PARK, en étant un groupe plus mainstream que tous les ados peuvent affirmer écouter en secret, a semblé emmener ce week-end heavy vers la fin, et aider la foule à écouter de vieux airs provocant, pour certains, un peu de nostalgie.
Les morceaux qui ont ravivé ces souvenirs sont « New Divide » de l’album « Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen », sorti en 2009 , « Breaking the Habit » et « From The Inside » de « Meteora », sorti en 2003, une version acoustique au piano de « Crawling » tiré de « Hybrid Theory » sorti en 2000 et « Leave Out All The Rest » de l’album « Minutes to Midnight » sorti en 2007.
Les festivaliers chantaient en choeur leurs chansons préférées du groupe, et la voix de Chester Bennington portait largement sur les terres du festival. LINKIN PARK a sorti son septième album, « One More Light », en mai dernier.

Linkin Park was one of the final bands of the 3-day Hellfest weekend, headlining on the main stage and bringing closure to a festival filled with a variety of music including heavy metal, punk rock, the blues, stoner rock, and more. Linkin Park is a « nu metal » band that formed in 1996 in Agoura Hills, California, and took off like a storm with their album Hybrid Theory, quickly securing a spot on heavy rotation on the radio and TV. Linkin Park, being a more mainstream band that every 15-year old can attest to secretly listening to, seemed to bring the heavy weekend to an end, and to ease the crowd into listening to old tunes that brought on nostalgia.
Songs that brought on memories were « New Divide » off the Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen album (2009), « Breaking the Habit » and « From The Inside » off Meteora (2003), an acoustic piano version of « Crawling » off Hybrid Theory (2000), and « Leave Out All The Rest » off the Minutes to Midnight album (2007).
The festival-goers were singing along to their favorite Linkin Park songs, and Chester Bennington’s voice carried well throughout the festival grounds. Linkin Park has released their seventh album, One More Light, in May.
