Live Report : CORONER au HELLFEST 2017
English version below, click here…
CORONER a conclu le set avec « Die by My Hand » tiré de l’album de 1989, « More More ».

Coroner are a Swiss thrash metal band hailing from Zürich, Switzerland. They have been around since the late 80s through the 90s, broke up in 1996, and reunited 14 years later, in 2010, with Hellfest being one of their first appearances. Since then, they’ve been touring sporadically without having released a new album. Their last studio album is Grip (1993). Coroner says they will release a new album this year! It’s been a long time coming.
Coroner‘s vocalist and bassist Ron Broder was expressive and emotive on stage, compared to an overall funeral-like eerie mood to match their sound and band name. Tommy Vetterli plucked away on his guitar, and Diego Rapacchietti beat away on the drums. Their background included a projection of eyeballs staring at you from every direction.
Coroner opened their set with « Golden Cashmere Sleeper, Part 1, » an atmospheric track that makes you feel like you’re in outer space, with the elongated guitar solos, smooth and soft drumming, and added futuristic sounds. They picked up the pace with a more thrash sounding « Internal Conflicts » off their last album Grip, followed by « Serpent Moves, » and again, a very hard and fast « Divine Step (Conspectu Mortis) ». Coroner rounded off their set with « Die by My Hand » off the 1989 album No More Color.
Let’s see in which direction Coroner will take their new album – will it be more thrash, more experimental, or something unexpected?
